LAST EDITED ON May-15-01 AT 09:47AM (CST)[p]Ok, I realize this is a bit premature, but part of the fun of a fishing trip is the planning :-). Looks like my wife will be accompanying me. However, she would like to stay somewhere "nice". I've done a little searching on the web and so far I've got it narrowed down to the Sawmill Creek Hotel/Resort. Has anyone stayed here? How is it? Does anyone know of other places along these lines that I'm missing. I want to get the ball rolling on this so we can arrange grandparents to watch the kids and dogs. I'd appreciate any input. Thanks!

FJH1,

Saw Mill Resort is a very nice place to stay. Good Resturant and Golf Course. We also have several excellent places to stay in Sandusky. The new Great Bear Lodge has become very popular. It has a large swim area with all sorts of water activities. Large rooms and Excellent Resturants.(It is expensive) Also, Cedar Point has now taken over the Radisson Hotel. It is also a good place to stay. They both do have web sites if you want to check on prices etc. Good Fishing

I've stayed at Sawmill before, and it's a first-rate facility. It's only ten minutes to the Huron Boat Basin, where the Walleye Central tournament is based. I personally prefer Sawmill to the Radisson by Cedar Point. The Great Bear Resort is new and nice, but has a ton of kids with the water park. I have two kids, and have been there myself, but be forewarned if you and your wife want peace and quiet. For peace and quiet, take Sawmill.

Thanks Hawk Eye, looks like Sawmill is the way to go. From their web site it looks pretty sweet. I really appreciate your input.
