View Full Version : kicker bracket
I am looking to buy a kicker bracket for a Ranger 617. Not sure if I want to spend $500. for a Panther. Does anyone sell a bracket that does not lift and where can I find one in Michigan?
Thanks in advance, Bob

Bob,
Just installed a bracket on my boat. From Cabela's, it works great.

Go to the sponsors page here. Bracket Pro has a retail section on their web site and a comprehensive dealers list. They are even product of the month here on Walleye Central on the top of the products page. I am getting mine for the new boat.

Bob, I just finished putting a Bracket Pro on my Skeeter. I couldn't see paying those high bucks either. On the products page
you will see the bracked pro listed and it will take you right to the web page. It is VERY easy to hook
up as it says, the price is right, and best of all it works excellent.
If you get one and have any trouble or if you have any questions feel free to send an email. Be glad to help out in any way I can. Nels

You can contact steve poll who makes a very nice kicker bracket with a handle that you just pull up on. Have one on my boat and works awsome. Cheaper too.

Bob,
I think you are talking about the bracket that allows the installation of the kicker to the boat. This is available through any Ranger dealer or through Ranger. It is made by Panther and is solid cast aluminum. I hope this helps anwer your question.

Steve Poll makes a bracket that is easy to install, very inexpensive, and works wonders. After loosing two 1996 Mercury 8 hp in lk erie Steve sold me one of his. My insurance company loves him. I havent even bent the aluminum rod since. Steve lives in Fon du Lac, Wi. his number is listed. If not e-mail me and I will give it to you.

Does the Bracket Pro keep the kicker from bouncing while under way w/ the main motor? Does it also provide a "leash" if something in the primary bracket fails? Does it require drilling any additional holes? Thanks in advance for any replies.

hi steve! to answer your 1st question. YES our product stops all bouncing of the kicker, by securing your kicker to our bracket with a big 2in buckle over strap.every thing about this product is very heavy duty yet very light weight. we designed this product never ever to fail EVER. dont for get, our product is 304 stainless steel everything and LIFETIME WARRENTIED. as far as drilling new holes in your transom it depends on which motor brand you have. our bracket uses the stock oem hole patern on all mercs. if you have any thing other than a merc. you have to drill 2 new holes directly under your clamps,2in on center and mount our bracket . its very simple. there are many engineering characteristics to our product. we would be happy to answer any questions you might have any time. please dont forget. you get what you pay for.after a couple trips to the dealer to fix broken parts that will continue to break. our product becomes a real easy decision.forever life time warrentied. i hope this helps. thankyou robert j idzikowski owner 262-644-5337

Is that bracket also used for trailering to support the kicker in the up position the same as a transom saver?

Yes when the Bracket Pro is in the up position it is also ready
to hit the road. The Bracket Pro comes with a very nice looking
wide nylon strap you fasten around the motor and tighten just
like the straps you use to strap your boat down. It doesn't
move, its made of Stainless Steel and looks good. You do get what you pay for in any product and this
one you get more.
