I have a problem with this motor, while cruising under 4800 rpms, everything works fine untill it reaches 4900 to 5000 rpms then the CHECK ENGINE LIGHT comes on, if you back off rpms to around 4500 the light goes off . the motor runs like a dream other than this problem, water pressure is around 15 lbs.

Mr. Wildgerman, The proper spelling is Ficht, but,also, contact your local dealer, I believe that it would be something in the ECU computer that would be causing that problem.

I had a similiar problem while out on Lake Powell last year and was forced to fix it myself. On top of the flywheel cover there is a electronic censor that has to be adjusted to .050 from the flywheel (not real sure what it is called). Mine got out of wack and when I hit higher RPM's the warning buzzer would go off and the check engine light would come on. If I did not back off on the throttle, the engine would die. Adjusting it to .050 (pretty sure that was the gap) got me running again. Best just take it in to the dealer as my fix might not address your issue.
