My 90 merk came new with NGK #BUZHW-2 plugs, $98.75 per 10. Whene it came time to replace them my dealer sold me NGK# BUHW-2. They told me the Z is a Canadan plug. They said Canada has very liberal dinomite laws and some plugs cause staic problems, like BOOM. Can this be right or are they just trying get rid of some odd ball plugs?

I run NGK BUHW-2 plugs in my '97 90 Merc and '96 90 Mariner. That is the recommended plug, at least in the owners manual, for these motors. Mine are both 2 strokes, obviously....

I think what he means by static problems is RF interference, like static in your radio from a non-supressor type plug.
