Has anyone received anything from our members only stuff? I have two mules that could help deliver the goods if this will help.

I thought they said 4 to 6 weeks, but maybe it was 4 to 6 months!
Lost me.

I am pretty disgusted with this whole deal. I was 50/50 about joining the NPAA. I guess this "Members Only" program sealed the deal for me. I am going to let them find another sucker to use my number next year.

The only thing I recieved right away was my membership packet. I have joined many fishing clubs that offered product testing or great discounts only to leave disappointed. When I joined the N.P.A.A I did it because i was told this was the elite group of fisherman. The best "brotherhood" out there. The people I have met are totally great, we share knowledge with each other. I really hope that this organazation stands behind what it says, if not whats left out there in the form of a legit fishing club that cares about the sport and its members NOT the money.

I'am 3 tournaments into the season and could really use the tackle I ordered. I have had too get the stuff I ordered throught other sources. so dose this mean I payed 3 time's as much for the tackle I still have not received yet. I think so when I do the math!!!!!!!!!!!!
Anyone else out there getting a little disgusted? It has been a month and a half since my credit card was charged. I also have had to go purchase alot of the things I had ordered. But let me tell you that $110.00 sticker sure does look good on my motor. I agree with the last posts, they can have my number back next year.

I talked to Charlie yesterday. He was boxing cranks and my phone call interupted him. He said the stuff is being shipped as fast as possible. Cranks alone was a full semi load. One guy to unload, box and ship. If you joined for discounts alon you joined for the wrong reason, but that's your choice. I did the math. $110.00 to join right? $1.50 each for 24 $6.00 cranks, $12.50 for 4 $20.00 boards (that's less than the pro staff pays).
They just paid me $28.00 to be a member. Now, if you ordered anything else???????
Be patient boys and girls?

Phil, i agree with you. what reason do these folks have for being irritated at waiting so long. after all, they should not question the organization or make any comments when they receive such poor service.
they should just suck up and wait until the goods arrive. holding their breathe until it arrives might also be a good idea.

You got it Phil! I don't care if the stuff shows up at Christmas time. That's not the reason I joined the NPAA. I still stand behind the organization 100%.
I agree, if they only joined for the discount on merchandise, then they are in it for the wrong reasons and don't understand what the NPAA is for. The discount program is a "perk". Period. They didn't have to even offer it!
Hey Charlie, I know your keeping an eye on this buddy...don't bother to respond to these guys. Just keep up the good work! It's got to be a pain in the butt to get through that semi load and half of cranks that showed up on your doorstep... just thrown into boxes, without any kind of organization. whew! If I lived a few states closer to you, I would be the first one there to give you a helping hand!

NPAA #231
I am going to have to agree with Phil on this one.
The N.P.A.A. stands for:
National Professional Anglers Association.
An organization of Professional Fisherman who are serious about the sport and Tournament fishing. It does not stand for Rebates, Discounts, and Free products. As Phil said alot of the deals you get through the N.P.A.A. are even better the Pro Staffers get for some of these companies, so be patient, you're getting a good deal.
I haven't even used the discount program yet. That's not why I joined. I joined to help better myself as a fisherman by being associated with other great fisherman who are serious about this great sport, and I joined to help better the sport however I can.
Now guys, c'mon be patient you'll get your stuff.
Charlie is a great guy and wouldn't yank ANY of you around.
Heck, he held my Number for 6 months while I decided if I was going to take it or not.
You're stuff will get to you as soon as possible, so just relax and keep fishing.

They still owe it to their memebers to do a better job of communicating. If credit cards were going to be charged 6 to 8 weeks prior to delivery then they should have said something. Charlie working as hard as he can to get the stuff out does litte for the memeber who hasn't heard from the NPAA or gotten his stuff. A "professional association" should be just that, and communication is the key to ANY organization. The "rose colored glasses", just be patient if you really want to be part of a pro organization routine doesn't work with me. If they made a mistake, bit off more then they could chew, got a better response then expected or whatever the reason for the mis-communication then that's the program...sorry it took so long. Patience IS a virture most desirable in an angler and communication IS expected from any organization that calls itself an association of professionals. Personally, I'm seeing a lacking in both regards and too much rah rah NPAA. The communication in regards to the ordering program was lacking and I sure hope these people get their stuff before Christmas. Sounds like they will.

I am not amember of the NPAA. Just thought I'd comment on the situation. Things can run a lot smoother next year if They would set an earlier deadline for membership. This would allow orders to be processed early enough to hopefully get them out to the members BEFORE their Opening Days or first tournaments.
Please don't nail me for this but other than the discounts, I fail to see much reason or advantage in joining this organization. The real Pro's out there will still have their resume's to fall back on and the wannabe's will still be building up a series of finishes to show prospective sponsors. Having a decal on the motor shouldn't make or break a deal from happening. You're not a better speaker/representative just because you paid for a sticker. You can still be a jerk, with or without one. If I'm missing something, feel free to enlighten me, but keep the name calling out of your response and explain why/where/how you have benefitted from this organization. I think those people equiping their boats with discounted merchandise have a legitimate beef when their orders weren't filled as advertised. What some may consider a perk, others may have considered a promise.

LAST EDITED ON May-24-01 AT 08:04AM (CST)[p]Hi Doc,
If you have not received any info back from them on your insurance as of yet you had better contact them. I hadn't, even though I had faxed in the application with credit card info back on April 24th. I thought that I had better call them and see what was going on. Turns out that my app. had just been processed the day before I called, Monday May,21st. (Coincidence?) I wonder what would have happened had I had a claim. I would strongly encourage anyone who has not heard back from Greater Insurance Services in regard to the NPAA insurance program to contact them at 1-800-747-4472. You may not have any insurance as of yet. It kind of upset me that I had the boat out for nearly a month with no coverage in effect. Thank goodness I had no incidents.
As far as the member only program goes, it is obvious that it needs a great deal of improvement. I think that we were told that it would be improved last year. True, it is not the only reason that we joined the organization. The Members Only Program and the insurance program are a big part of the reasons. Along with expectations of being able to participate in an organization to improve angling at a professional level. As of yet I have not seen any of the above worth my contribution of $110.00. I just don't see any real value for being a part of this association in any respect. I can carry out my fishing business in a professional manner without their sticker. I hope to see some real improvement within the NPAA during the rest of the year that would make me change my mind. Take Care, Tom.
Just called the insurance company, spoke to Steve Graham. Everything is in order with my insurance coverage. It takes three to for weeks to get your policy. But it is in-effect once your credit card clears.

I havn't switched my Insurance yet. I'm waiting until the policy that I paid for in advance with my other insurance carrier is ready to renew. Thanks for the heads up. I ALWAYS ask for proof of binding coverage on my fax machine. I ran into that a long time ago and almost had a problem with an auto claim. As far as the NPAA in general, I think one can make many good and bad points. There HAS to be some merit or it wouldn't be worth the $110. I think the potential for what it can do is worth the investment. We WILL see.

OK we have been swamped with applications and yes we are aprox. 3-4 weeks out on getting policy's out. But let me assure every policy holder or applicant that there is insurance while the policy is being put together. Insurance is in force from either the day after postmark from USPO. Or I bind the coverage on the time date stamp of the fax machine. I do have binding abilty with the underwriting insurer. Let me assure all that noone has gone without insurance. The only problem that does inccure is when a billing notice goes out then a notice of intent to cancel goes out when Money is due. We must recive prombt payments of the company has no alternitve. I would invite anyone who has a problem to contact me. Good or Bad, this is our program and only we together can make it better. My buisness phone is 1-800-747-4472 or e-mail steveg@greater-insurance.com. Hope to see all of you on the water sometime during the season. If you see us Todd NPAA #31 or Steve#69 Say Hi. Hi Steve,
I sent a e-mail to you in response to your post. I sent it to the greater insurance address. I noted that you had left two different ones on this message board. I tried to call at your office but was told you were gone for the day. Please feel free to contact me again in regards to this situration. I do not see any need for discussing it in this public forum. Thanks. Tom
I am tired of these few people saying that if you joined the NPAA for the tackle discounts and the insurance only, you have joined for the wrong reasons. You may be surprised on how many people have joined only for those reasons. Everyone who has joined the NPAA has paid their $110.00 for ever what reason it maybe, don't be so quick to put people down because they are a little concerned on were their merchandise is and when it will be coming. Its not our fault that the NPAA only had one person to unload the semi full of cranks is it? I realize they have a great volume of merchandise to move out, and I think the NPAA is a good organization I just wish they would have been a little more informative to keep the members in the loop on what was going on with the tackle shipment, thats all. If I have offended anyone I have not ment to. Just my opinion.
