Sticky Rod Holders

I'm looking for any ideas to free up my new Cabela's 360HT rod holders. The security ring is sticky and jerky. Not sure if I should use a lubricant???? Any help, Please. Thanks!!

Richard, mine "broke-in" after using them for a while.Have had them now for two yrs.For off-stern fishing they are great.For going off=sides, and especially below horizontal,I still use a ring for holding on.

WD40 should do the job or any silicon lube. Wd40 also great for sticky zippers like on boat canvas.

I would be careful using WD-40 on plastics. It contains solvents. You can't go wrong using a silicone spray lubricant.
