Does anyone use these anchors? I have a 619 and was wondering which size I'll need to hold in 2-3 footers. They have a 18# and a 25#. I was hopeing to be able to get away with the 18#. Any suggestions, Thanks

I recommend going bigger if there's any question. I have the 25 with my Tracker and it seems to hold even in rough conditions. They're a great anchor.

Take a look at Pro Anchor by Guidemaster. They make a great anchor. I would agree with Joefish that the heavier one would be better no matter which one you choose.

I have one and don't like it unless I am able to put out a lot of line.

Though a 18# will hold you in calm water, I would recommend the 25# for the 2-3 footers you fish. I also recommend taking a look at the Pro Anchor (www.guidemasters.net). I have both anchors and like the Pro Anchor best (especially in rocks).

LAST EDITED ON May-21-01 AT 01:42PM (CST)[p]I just went and took a look a the ProAnchor, and I have to say it sure does look like a winner. I like the fact that the ProAnchor has the dual reverse pullout bar, where as the Rhicter only has the pullout bar on one side of the anchor.

They are basically the same design, and knowing how well the Rhicter anchor works, I can only imagine the ProAnchor is just a step above, because of the dual reverse pullout bar feature.

Thanks for the tip!

p.s. As for the original question...I agree with everyone else. The 25# would be the best one for the 619. Better safe than sorry! ;-)

I would recomend the pro anchor in the 25# also. I really like the dual reverse pullout as mentioned earlier. I also like the flat bottom which helps it stay in place between spots in those 2 to 3 footers. The 18# will work great for calm conditions but will require a lot of rope in the big winds.

Thanks for the info. I did go with the 25 lbs. I'll give it a try tonight.
