Now that all of us have our equipment together, I was told by my insurance agent to take alot of photos of it and give him a copy and put the other in a safe place. This is the only way to prove just how much tackle and equipment we do have! It's also a good idea to open Plano lids and photograph the contents. As an earlier post said, "no one would believe just how many tackle boxes I have!" It's amazing the amount we aquire and I recommend doing this while the wife isn't watching......
sound advice, i do the same thing with all my tools and any thing of value i get.

It only took once to have my tackle box stolen. That wasn't the worst of it my wife told me the week earlier to take photo's of everything. Needless to say I didn't! Since than I keep every receipt and take photos of all the tackle and rods/reels. The important thing is to keep the receipts in a place your wife can't find them.
Good luck and tight lines!

Excellent idea! I'm an insurance broker and always advise people to do this. I know myself how much it's worth because I just can't walk by tackle in a store and NOT buy any! Another thought is to use a video camera. By doing it this way you can also verbally discribe things as well. The toughest thing after a loss is to remember what you owned.
By having either pictures or a video is an excellent way of proving what you owned and reminding yourself just what you did own.
