Here is perhaps an unusual question.

How do all of Pro V user's like your tilt steering? I have a Lund 2001 Mr. Pike 17. I really wanted the tilt steering, and it was available as an special order option for $80. Unfortunately (or fortunately) the dealer made me a great deal on an in-stock boat.

But now I find it a bit difficult to get in-and-out of the seat (loosing a few pounds would probably help). In a recent thread I asked about a "seat slider". But this made be think about the tilt steering again.

As I recall, it was a couple hundred dollars to add tilt-steering to my boat -- from the dealer -- it could be more. Is it worth it?

Could I do it myself? Any aftermarket distibutors?

Thanks.

I have the tilt wheel on 2002 mrpike 16 and use it alot. The no feed back part of it is extra nice.

Put a seat slider on and save $250. I had both on my Crestliner SF until I changed over to hydraulic steering when I didn't order the tilt part with the kit. Never used it anyway once the slider was installed. More leg room too.

The latest edition of Bass & Walleye Boats had a 'how to' article on installing an aftermarket tilt steering system. Check it out.
