Just purchased this reel for $50 bucks and have already noticed that the drag system may not be too good. I want to use it for trolling using the clicker function and it seems that you have to back off the drag way to much in order for the line to strip. Then ofcourse you would have to tighten down the drag alot when a fish strikes. Anyone experience this problem or have advice to offer/

That's the way it is suppose to work. The drag slips to make the clicker work. I have used these reels for 2 years and feel that the drag and clicker work fine. When trolling with the drag set loose enough to indicate strike, the clicker will work. After the strike, tighten the drag to the desired amount to fight the fish, just like any other reel.

No different than how I use the Diawa's ( which cost twice what the Okuma cost - not sure I got twice the reel though. Hard to zero out the counter a lot of the time. Yuck)
