I need to put a compass on my 620 but can't decide what kind and where to mount it. Would appreciate suggestions on what type of compass you have and where you have mounted it.

I had mine mounted in the dash right below the trim gauge on the 620

Hey Hugh,

I mounted mine on the apex of the dash, right above the steering wheel. I had to remove the windshield to put it there as I could not get the drill and screw driver straight at the dash.

I used a Ritche Angler, or was it an Airglide? Doesn't matter, both are good and I have used both in the past.

I placed the base right at the top of the dash and the screw holes were right at the edge of the gelcoat and the black dash material. I then drilled the holes, and put a gob of Marine silicone under the base to fill the gaps on each end due to the radius of the dash. This gave me a very stable mount.

Just be sure to locate the compass position before you remove the windscreen. If not it may not fit after you have drilled the holes and mounted the base.

Good luck.......R
