Minn Kota AP w/universal sonar

I have just ordered a Minn Kota 65AP with universal sonar. Has anyone had any experience with the new universal sonar? Also, I'm replacing a Motorguide with a big water gator mount and the Minn Kota looks flimsy compared to what I am used to. Have the Minn Kota Autopilot units held up well?
