I noticed in last years Cabelas marine catlog there was a remote
throttle control for a kicker motor. I think it was called Troll master. Has anybody ever used this? Are there any other types of controls that I could control the speed of the kicker from the console.

I have used the Trollmaster and the TR-1 Throttle control. Both work well with the TR-1 being a better installation. I have had a Trollmaster for 4 years on the 23 Pro-line with no problems. It is just a little more jury rigged than the TR-1. You will be happy with either one, especially on four strokes.

I Just installed a Troll Master unit on my boat. I have a 9.9 Merc. Bigfoot. I have a tiller boat because I 'handline' most of the time. I have my 50 4-stroke hooked to the 9.9 for steering and the Troll Master for the throttle. It works great and was easy to install. I ordered it right from Troll Master. I was going to use one of those handles with a u-joint in but it didn't work very good and they wanted $50. for it. I am totally happy with it. Good Luck, Eric

How fine is the throttle control compared to the traditional tiller control for a Merc 9.9 4-stroke? I have the tiller handle speed control for mine and really wish the speed could be adjusted with a bit more precision when trolling harnesses. What do you think?

The web site for TrollMaster is www.troll-master.com For me the throttle control on a tiller 4-stroke is fine tuned better with a troll-master. I find it much easier to turn the dial on the trollmaster then try and twist the contol on the 4-stroke to just the right settings.

They sure do! I fished it quite a few weeks last year. I haven't been on the lake yet since ice out, due to other commitments. My shedule frees up in 2 weeks. We should get together and fish the tourney once this summer. Keep in touch!
