I'm getting ready to outfit my new boat and was looking at the Excel 82# .I have a pinpoint 7520 so the built in tranducer is a perfect match. My question is how this bowmount behaves in use. Any shortcoming I need to be aware of?

I have the 71# thrust and it is ok at best. I have had 1 motor go bad and 1 foot pedal quit so I sent them back and they sent me another each time no cost to me even for shipping..
Now I having trouble with the little belt that turns the directional indicator on top keeps coming off the sprockets and I have no indication. Motorguide costumer service is 2nd to none because I did not buy my BMT package new but they still gave me a new troller when I had problems with an out of production model.
Thanks for reminding me I think I'll pull it out from under my bed (yes I sleep with my trolling motor) and take it apart to find out whats the problem with the belt.
It is very powerfull and steers very well from anywhere in the boat just be sure and order the extension for the cable.
