Do any of you know what company's do for the lower level of sponsorship?
Do they give you products and discounts on their products?
I'm trying to gather some information because I would like to try and get some sponsors for the 2001 season

Generally the lower level sponsorship assistance programs give the angler some sort of a discount on product (rarely is product given out for free). However, what many people don't realize is that sponsorship is a two way street. Just because somebody is a hot stick a company may not offer any sort of sponsorship assisatnce. You have to look at it from the companies perspective - what can he (or she) do for us? In the end it all comes down to business and if an angler can't proove that he can generate more business for the sponsoring company what is the use of giving away goods at a lower profit margin? Usually sponsoring companies EXPECT you to work in-store promotions, trade shows, seminars.... It is also a good benefit to posess good public speaking skills.
