Does anyone have any pros and cons. on the 20001 evinrude 115 ficht. How do they perform? Are the quiet? How slow do they idle down? Any PROBLEMS?? I am looking to buy one on an alumacraft trophy 185 and wanted some opinions before making the purchase.
After about the end of 99 - the industry wide word - is that the bugs have been worked out of this motor. With the advent of Bombidiar Ownership of these engines, they have a great warrenty, and will back the motor to the teeth.
Lots of very happy folk with the 2000 and 2001 engines.

I have a 2001 115 ficht on my 182T crestliner tiller. I havent had a bit of trouble and i would recomend this motor to anyone. The oil and feul consumption is great. I can troll at 1.6 mph forward and probably half that backtrolling. Exhaust feums and smoke are next to nothiing. I went through 2 sets of plugs last year and i suspect they are do to be changed again but plugs are cheap. Hope this helps and good luck in your purchase.

I too just bought a 2000 Ficht on the back of a 1750 Crestliner Fish Hawk, Its pretty quite, and runs smooth. I had the Same concerns as you did, but I have found that most people said that by 2000 all the bugs have been worked out. The Manufacturers warrenty on mine us up in the end of May, I plan to run it alot between now and then. I'm even thinking about purchasing an extended warrenty.

no one will sell an extended warranty on a ficht engine.
