I have an opportunity to buy a 2001 (new leftover) 20' ProLine Walkaround with a 150 HP Opti. Can anyone enlighten me on the Opti? Good or bad?
Thanks

Boy are you going to get an earful. I guess I'll start it. I have a 2000 model that has been flawless. Love the way it starts first time everytime, the gas mileage is very good and I run hard. Haven't had the hood off of it yet and I've run it two seasons.

I've ran an OptiMax for two seasons. I can't say enough good about it. You''ll be happy!

My Opti 150 was the best motor I ever owned, car or boat. Easy starts, smooth operation, great power, super fuel mileage, never ONCE did it need something.

I loved my 150 opti on my 1800 Fisherman so much that I put a 200 opti on my new Pro V. Know trouble of any kind and very economical.
Your making a good choice.

My Opti-Max has been worthless ever since it came off the line.....for the guy that fixes outboards, that is. Go Opti all the way!

I have a 2001 Opti 135 on the back of a Pro V 1775. Love it (as everyone does it looks like). Mark

Most of the problem with the optimax motors were with the 200 and 225's as I remember it. My 1998 150 opti has been working top notch ever since it hit the back of my boat.

My "99" Opti has been a sensational engine. Starts instantly , never smokes, idles well, & is a miser on fuel use. It has been the best outboard engine I have owned. ( The 135's & 150's are based on the same powerhead & have been reliable engines for Mercury)
