I took my boat out this last week and have a 100 hp Yam 4 stroke on it. I haven't run it since last year and noticed some problems when I opened it up quickly. It started great, trolled great, but when I went to move to another spot, it seemed like it wasn't getting enough gas. If I opened it up slowly, I didn't have a problem and it ran wide open just fine. Could this be bad gas? Is there a gas additive I need to put in? Please let me know.

Put in some fresh gas and add a can of Seafoam. Hopefully this will get rid of your problem.

Take your motor to a Yamaha dealer and have them sync the carbs.Yamaha had a problem with these and the 80 when they came from the factory. The intial settings on the carbs are to lean on some motors.I would recommend running Premium gas with no ethenol and mixing in alittle isopropyl in.

Had the same problem with my F80. Get the carbs resync'd and have them check for varnishing. I run stabil always with no problem. I may switch to SeaFoam this year.
