Does anyone know what the availability of a used Alumacraft 165 Magnum or the Crestliner 1650 Fishhawk is? I would be looking for something in the 1yr to 4 or 5yr old range. Have been looking at new but would like to know what the experts have to say. I would think a four stroke 40hp to 50hp motor would be the way to go as I do a lot of trolling. Would also want it rigged with an electric trolling motor as well. I live in Northwest IA for anyone interested.
Any comments?

Thanks,

Tim

I have a Magnum but it is not for sale. You probably would need a 50. I have a 40 and it is a little sluggish with 4 people. Great boat. Nothing bad to say about it.

Hi Tim-

I'm sure you've already checked Parks, but I thought I'd mention it any way. In Okoboji & Sioux Falls.

The store in Okoboji will have a '98 1750 Fishawk with a 70hp Nissan side console sometime in June, or earlier depending on when my boat arrives.

Good luck on your search.

Mike

Two great boats to pick from. I agree with the previous post that you would want to go with a 50 on the alumacraft (probably the crestliner too). My brother-in-law has the magnum tiller with a 50 and it it is a very nice set up.
There is a 1999 magnum and a 1750 fishhawk for sale in the classifieds section on www.fishtheriver.com.
The fishhawk is a very popular muskie boat so if you are looking for used ones you may want to check sites related to that.

I forgot you may also want to check with Lacannes marine in Faribault, MN. Their website is www.lacannesmarine.com. You can email Destry Foyte from the site and let him know what you are looking for.
I have never purchased anything from them but have heard good things.

Tim, I have a 1650 Fishhawk and it is for sale. I work in the fishing industry, and I get a pretty good deal on these rigs. The boat is awesome. I have just posted it on walleye centrals classified section. Give me a call, I think it would be worth your time.
