View Full Version : Park Rapids
Anyone have a walleye report from Park Rapids. I'll be there this weekend.
Thanks,
Nick
Tony Dean's website just had a piece on Minnesota fishing around Park Rapids. This is from his website coming from Delaney's in Park Rapids:
Walleye fishing really picked up last week. Potato Lake in 10-12' or Fish Hook Lake in 18-20' are both producing a good walleye bite. The trick is most of the fish are being caught on nightcrawlers. Big Sand Lake is starting to show signs of life in 14-16' of water. Although here the walleyes prefer leeches.
That's all I got. I have never gone to Park Rapids in May. Go up there in Early August. Good luck.

having grown up in Park Rapids, on Potato Lake, i can say that around the rock humps in the center of the lake and the sand break and upcoming weed lines should be producing. Also Big Sand on the North end is really kicking out some great size 'eyes right now according to my hometown connection. Just be sure to check their slot limit on that lake. Leeches in 12 - 14 feet seems to be the trick on the Cool Ridge Resort area.
