Those who have a 2002 620VS are you running a jackplate with this boat? What kind of speed are you getting? Are they faster than previous year models?

I just had mine in the river last weekend and did my break in. I did not go with the jack plate. My top GPS speed was 61 mph. I do not run a kicker motor, and it was just me in the boat at the time, I run a 225 Optimax. Love the ride and it handles great.

I just picked mine up I did not go with the jack plate! I have yet to get it out today 30 and snow!

I had a 2002 620 last year with no jackplate and a buddy of mine had an identical 2002 620 with a jackplate. We fish together quite a bit and both came to the conclusion that with the gas tank moved, we both preferred the boat without a jackplate. The boats had Merc 225 Optimax motors with 9.9 4-stroke kickers. My boat would do 61 GPS and Matt's with a jackplate was right around 62 gps.
