Has anyone had any problems with breaking the lower unite using this plate. Thanks.

I've used the Cobra Edge stainless steel professional stabilizing plate on 3 Targa 2000's with no problems. I like the stainless steel for its stiffness, durability, low maintenance, and thin design. When Bass and Walleye boats tested foils, they found the one-piece metal foil placed the least strain on the motor's cavitation plate. Also it was one of the fastest ones tested. Interestingly, at WOT and trim, my Edge plate is basically out of the water (Opti mounted all the way up); so in effect it really makes the boat faster by allowing you to use a taller prop and still have a decent hole shot. I highly recommend the Edge plate- it's an excellent product, and you can order it from Bass Pro Shops for about $100.
