hey guys-
i am in sioux falls right now and was wondering what you think this weekends fishing is going to be like. i have a friend that is from wyoming who i went to school with at the mines and he is a guide for trout, but has NEVER been walleye fishing. i was hoping that i could take him this weekend and we could meet half way at chamberlain since i have had excellent luck pulling plugs there. i was wondering what you thought about this extreme cold front that came through and how it might affect the walleye in the 5-15 feet of water on the rocks (the ones that we were nailing a couple of weeks ago pulling plugs!!)
thanks for any advice

It's been my expeience on Francis Case and Oahe that after a cold front the fish will go deeper and hold near structure. Below the dams in current the bite doesn't change as dramaticly. I would hunt for the fish and if their stacked into an area try live bait. They may still go on cranks in these areas also. Good Luck.....

My suggestions would be to look a little deeper and find water that is clearer. I'm not sure how much rain they have received out there this week, but the river can get awful muddy. Times like this I'll try and find the clearest water possible. Move around and when you find fish, don't be afraid to try other methods, live bait, jigs/platics. I have some friends from SF heading out there also. I'll be above the dam on Lake Sharpe pulling crawlers or plugs. Good Luck!!!
