Looking for volunteer guides with boats to take 2-3 jr. high age students fishing for a few hours on Lake Minnetonka Monday, June 4 from about 9:20 am till about 1:00 pm. This is the 14th Annual "Fishing Experience" for North View Jr. students. These young people have earned the opportunity to attend by demonstrating good behavior in school. Kids attending will be bussed from school in Brooklyn Park to Maynards Restaurant on Excelsior Bay. The day will consist of fishing, 2-3 per boat, a tournament-style weigh-in (hosted by John Hines of K102 radio) of no more than 4 fish (any species panfish ok), a free barbeque lunch provided for all, pictures and a random drawing for kids prizes. Emphasis will be on the experience of fishing and teaching the kids fishing basics. Many of the students attending have never fished before. You truly will be "Making a Memory" for many that will last a lifetiime.

As a volunteer guide please bring rods & reels the kids can use, tackle and life jackets. Live bait is OK. Kids are encouraged to bring snacks if they want to munch on the boat.

Please email me if you'd like to attend or if you need more information.

Thanks & Good Fishin'

I wish I could help but I am scheduled to work that day. If it is cancelled for rain or any date change let me know.
This will bring it to the top again

Billy sounds like a very worth while cause,I may be able to help depending on work. Not sure if I have life jackets and rods & reels suitable for jr. high aged first timers though. What about liability,I would hate to get sued for doing a good deed in the event jr. decides to go for a swim. Please provide more details. Thanks
