Last night I got pricing from my local dealer on the 16 Mr. Pike with a 75 Merc 4 stroke with a custom trailer. All the extras I already have and I plan on transfering them over to this new boat. I was given a price of $16,875.00 before tax. Is this a good price? Any input on this boat would be great. I was told that the 75 H.P. 4 stroke would be the largest I want to go on this boat due to the weight of the motor. There will be some times when I'll have 4 people in the boat for some fall perch fishing out of Cleveland and Lorain. I am little concerned about performance. I underpowered a boat once before and I swore I'll never do it again. This dealer gave me a price of only $900 more for a 17 Mr. Pike with a 90 Merc two stroke. Would you rather have the bigger boat with a two stroke or the smaller boat with a 4 stroke?
Tom
I think the Dealer is a little high on both quotes. The Angler 1700 with a 90 2-stroke shouldn't be $900.00 higher. I don't think it should be higher at all. Call around and get some more quotes. As for the 75 4-stroke, I think that would do just fine on the Pike.
Good luck and check around, I think those prices are $750-$1400 high.

My new Mr. Pike 17 with a 115 4 stroke was only 16,300 so your quote seems alittle high . the price also depends on what add ons your dealer added..

Thank you for your replies. How do you like your boats?
Tom
The boat looks great but need soft water to try it out.. Maybe next week .. South Dakota's March was very cold..
John,
Where are you from? I would think that price is high. I got a real good price on a 1700 Angler SS with a 135 Opti. I first saw the boat at a show. It had a 125HP 2+2. Price was $15,560. I went from there.
I can give you several dealers in WI that should beat that price easily. Or try Crystal-Pierz in MN.

Take this price to your dealer and see if he would match it.2002 17 Mr. Pike with 115 4stroke Yamaha on trailer for $16,269.00.This dealer is from Ottertail MN.

Tom, The 16' Pike will accept up to a 100hp four stroke motor. Don't let the dealer kid you. Any questions call direct to the lund factory. Yes, I agree that he is high on his prices by about $1000.
Sorry John,
I just noticed you are from Ohio? Not sure of any dealers there, but you might want to check with Baymarine in Ontario. He had some really good pricing on his Lund boats. Is Trenton, Ont really far from you? Or you might try a couple of the dealers in MI.

Tom,
I own a 2001 Mr. Pike 16 with a 3100# shoreland'r roller trailer and a 90 hp 2 stroke Mercury. I have been very pleased with this boat and how well it handles. Top end speed is between 40-42 mph. The wide gunnels and two live wells are nice to have. I hope you find a good deal on a boat and are fishing out of it soon!!

Your price is high, and go with the 90 or 100 4 stroke, I have a friend who is running a 115 4 stroke on a older Pro V 16 which is a norrower than yours and no problems.
