Garmin 162 is an excellent unit. I used it all last year and love it! I would recommend the internal antenna, works just as good as the external and you don't have the hassle of mounting an antenna. This also makes the unit very mobil. This winter I used it in my car, truck and 4-wheeler for ice fishing. The unit has WAAS technology, and is accurate to within 7-8 feet at times. Good luck on your purchase. Should be able to buy a GARMIN 162 internal antenna for about $357.00.

I have one and agree with all of the Pro's. The only con I have found is it can be slow scrolling through all the waypoints.

I just purchased the Garmin 176. It is midway between the 162 and 76 in size. But can run on batteries or wired directly to boat battery. Advantages are that you can get a mount for the car, snowmachine, boat, or carry it into the woods. Also, in has the pop-in cartridges for memory that the 162 does not. Meaning more memory, and separate chips for different maps. New map CD's take a lot of memory that the 162 may not have. It also has 320x240 pixels. The 162 is 240x240. It is definitely worth a look see.
