Has anyone tried the new Ambassadeur EON yet? If so, how is it for casting and is the drag smooth?

The eon is an awsome reel. It casts better than any other reel I have owned. It is also a very comfortable in cold weather. Give one a try.

I just got in from doing some pond hopping. I used my EON for the first time. For the most part, It was great. I have it spooled with 12 lb. Trilene XL, and was using #3 & 4 mepps, beetle spins and buzz baits. The EON casts a country mile, lets you set a solid hook and gives you all the confidence you need to play the fish. It feels good. I caught a 4 lb. BB right at my feet, and the drag was real easy to adjust. It was fun letting her have a little line, then adusting the drag again to bring her on in.
However, 3 times while retrieving a mepps #3, (I did not have a fish on)the reel began to act as if the gears were out of alignment. It felt rough and it reeled rough. Also, the line began to pile up on the right side of the spool. I'm not sure whether the line guide stopped or not. I took the left side cover off, but could not see anything wrong. I will take the right side cover off tomorrow and check it out. I wonder if anyone has had this problem ocur with thier EON?
