Will you gain anything by putting on a jack plate speed or hole shot any info will help

I have a 619 with a Panther jack plate. You do gain a little, mostly in cornering and handling. I only get about 1-2 more mph top end, but I like the fact that the boat handles better and has a little better holeshot.
