I just installed a Yamaha T-8 Kicker on the boat. My question is, I replaced the factory gas line (5/16 ID) that came with the kicker with a 3/8 ID. gas line. The gas lines in the boat were all 3/8 dia. and I wanted them all to be the same in case of a emergency on the lake (interchange ability with the main motor). Will the fuel pump on the kicker, work to hard since changing the diameter of the fuel line or am I asking for problems done the road? I must also mention it is running off a seperate line than the main motor from the gas tank and I've install it with its on primer bulb hose.

NO:)

As long as your fuel line is large enough to supply the engines needs at full throttle, fuel line size makes 0 diffeence to the fuel pump.
Once the fuel line is filled - then the pump only needs to supply fuel to keep the pressure up - thus no difference at all to a running engine.
Take care

You are actually helping the fuel pump. The 3/8" line is bigger than the 5/16" line thus less restriction.

Thanks for all the responses, I was just making sure because questions and answers are cheap compared to fixing a boo-a-boo.I didn't want to win the Darwin award so early in the year, thought I l leave that to someone else.
THANKS!
