I have been looking to buy a couple of linecounter reels and the
consensus has been to go with the Daiwa's. In the Cabela's catalog, Shakespear has a new Tide Water Line Counter Reels. I was curious if anyone has tried the TW10LCL models. Would appreciate any comments.
Just trying to find a cheaper alternative to the Daiwa's.

I have 6 daiwa's and recently purchased 2 10's for mono and 4 30's for lead core. Tried both of them this weekend and they seemed to work fine.

Call Denny at Sportsman's Outpost 1 888 855 9032. He was pretty inpressed when they first came out, and he's a straight shooter.

I know I'll Catch some flack for this, but I have six Okuma line counters. They appear to be comparable to the Diawa reels. They cost less so people assume they are not as good as a more expensive reel. For my money they have it over the Diawa reels. Check them out.

I have 5 of the Tidewater reels. I used them earlier this spring on Lake Michigan salmon and trout. They worked fine. The drag adjustment is a little different than most stardrag reels. It takes more turning to make the same adjustment. This can be good. It allows a finer adjustment. The handles seem to turn easier than on my 47LC's. I have not checked the accuracy of the line counters.

Thanks for the comments. Was at Fleetfarm today and noticed they were on sale for $34.95 so I bought a couple of the TW10LCL's.
I don't think I'll be disappointed.

For that price I'm going to look at them and probably get a pair for leadcore lines. (Yes, ETT, I'm covering all the bases.)lol.
