spent the first 20 years of my life on the west end (house with huge beach - you cant miss it). great lake for all species, but for walleyes concentrate on the center lake rock structure, the weed line breaks on the west arm of the lake. the east arm is huge for recreation, that is where all the resorts are, and the south arm has a couple of weedline breaks as well down by the potato river which flows into fish hook lake. crawlers and leeches behind a 4 foot snell worked slowly have always been mainstays, but depending on time you are there, spinners trolled around 2 - 3 mph can get pretty impressive.

keep in touch with delaneys, local bait shop, and they will tell you the depths at the time you are there. most of though work the west arm for walleyes, it is by far the greatest concentration of them more than any other part of the lake.

I went fishing on Potato Lake once. It was close to 10 years ago. To be honest I don't even remember if I caught anything.

check "up-north.com" under the fishing reports section for minnesota state wide, I remember reading a report for potato just a few days ago and they update regularly.
