Dan Plautz wins with 82+lbs
many who were leaders from day one had smaller baskets today. alot of the pro's had large limits early the 2nd day when the coast guard cancelled that day's tourney. from talking to some of the pro's, most were on fish today, but they didn't bite till late (after the first flight was due in)in the day. quite a turnout for the final day!

The real winners of this tourney are the guys that played lifeguard on day two. John Weaton, Mike Herrick and Rick Olson along with the amateurs that were riding with them done themselves proud by pulling people to safety after a craft capsized. Lifeguards ****, they are heroes. Congrats to you guys you deserve all the praise on this day.

your right risto, i was suprised that they didn't award those guys for all that they did. but maybe awards will follow after the paperwork gets done.
one ? and comment about capsized pro
It is fortunate it turned out ok & no lives were lost but, should serve as warning to people fishing form small "walleye" boats on lake erie
DON'T GO OUT IN 4-6' waves in a boat not designed to handel it !! even if you are in a tournament use your head & respect the lake. no fish is worth your life. I fish for fun & wouldent take my 22' cuddy out in such conditions just incase it got rougher! my life is not worth it . sory to rant but, this incident should serve as a reminder to respect big water and know the limitations of your craft. Know when to say when even if it can cost you $

It wasn't a tournament boat that capsized out there. It was a recreational fisherman with 3 buddies aboard. The PWT guys are the ones who fished them out. As rough as it was out there those guys are awfully lucky there was a tournament on because no one else would have been out there to help those guys.
You do make a very valid point though. Don't go out there if the waves are 4+ and there is a thunderstorm going on. You are only asking for disaster.
