Holeshot is poor with Honda products as it's too heavy a motor for aluminum boats.

Speed should be 35-37mph with one person and 10 gals.

I have an aluminum ranger and a 60 Merc 2 stroke that tops at 30. So the 35 to 37 would seem be right there.

Is holeshot bad with all four strokes? In comparisons with other motors; ie. Suzuki, Mercury, and Yamaha, Honda was the second lightest behind Yamaha.

This sounds like this should be something from BassCentral.com, Holeshots are not as quick with a 4 strokes but the smoother running and operation are well worth the little you loose on the holeshot. I have found it best to stick with an aluminium prop as the 4 strokes can get it going faster in the water, If you have to have stainless try 2 pitches less that aluminium.

With a Yamaha F80, top speed with my 2000 1775 is 36-37 with one guy. Hole shot hasn't been bad at all. With two guys and loaded, it's 33-34. -- mark
