Does anyone know the difference between the Minnkota Autopilot 65 pound and the Cabela's Tournament series by Minnkota 60 pound bow mounts besides 5# and more cash ?? Just kind of wondering if could be close to same motor with a different wrapper. Both 60" shaft, 24V.
Thanks all in advance

Lew-
My understanding is that the Cabela's Tournament Series Autopilots are the same as the Minn Kota Autopilots, less 5# of thrust. The same is not true for the Cabela's series of transom mount motors.

I was just at Cabela's last weekend and looked at the same motor. The salesman there told me they were identical motors. I asked about the difference in thrust and he said they were identical. The marking was marked 60 instead of 65 for being different and placing their name on them. The operation, connections, appearance are identical other than one says Cabela's on it. Sitting side by side, I have to agree, they do appear to be identical other than the extra sticker on the Cabela's brand. I still question the 5# thrust difference though.
Go figure?

Minn Kota Told me the 65AP and Cabelas 60AP are indeed identical with the SAME power. Cabelas just underrates them for marketing reasons. In other words the Cabelas is a better buy. The Cabelas is Not available in Universal Sonar though.

I concour with the other posts. While shopping for my AP 65, I got the same answers.
