Okay, here's a fun question. I have a ticket to the second Avalanche-Devils game tonight. Would you be willing to trade that for the biggest 'eye of your life? Of course, it might make it harder if you are an Avs or Devils fan. Play with that one.

Easy choice. ;-) I wouldn't go to a hockey game, even if it was playing across the street. :o

He pulled a door off the closet. He didn't hit her. Only in Greenwood Village, CO can a guy get arrested for destroying his own property!

Hey, guys. That wasn't the question. Just walleye or tickets...nothing to do with personalities or domestic disputes. There will be enough violence on the ice.

First, as much as I love the Avs, in seven years of night fishing and walleye fishing in general, I still haven't passed the 25 inch mark. So I guess you know what my answer is!

Second, Eric is right about Roy.

Third, Hunter the Red Wings suck, go Avs.

since my big walleye is only 26" i would take the tickets

GO AVS GO! I'll take a ticket over a fish just about any day of my life. Would never figure I am a hockey player now would you.

Okay. Since I started this, I suppose I should weigh in (pun intended) with my answer. My biggest walleye was a 32.5 incher, but was skinny and "only" weighed 9 pounds. So a bigger one in length would be ##### big. Given that, I will probably catch lots more walleyes (maybe none bigger) but will probably never get tickets to the Stanley cup again, especially when the Avs are playing. Therefore...I will keep the tickets and take my chances on the big 'eye.

Yeah they suck, just like the Broncos!!!

Steve, I think you nailed it. You'll have many chances to get that trophy 'eye, but this might be the last chance you'll have to see Stanley hoisted in a while. Sakic's gonna bolt for the big $$ (Detroit?), Forsberg will never be the same post-splenectomy, and Borque is clearly at the end of the rainbow. See 'em while you can.

I grew up playing hockey with one of the Av's players, so I would keep the tickets. Plus, I have a lot of years to break my existing walleye record, which shouldn't be that tough:)

I say...Avs score late but lose anyway. Da 'lanche 2 - Coach Ditka 238. Huge Mismatch. Huh?!?

Hockey has too many teams and the calibre is not what it used to be. As a Canadian the US dollar ruined the game for me. The game has become a joke from the glory days.
I'll take the Walleye.

Man are you a bitter Red Wings fan or what? I did find it humerous when you said the Broncos suck though. After all, who would be a better judge of bad football than a Lions Fan?

I'd have taken the tickets and been quite happy with the choice after the first period. I'd have still been pleased after the second as the Devils ran all over the Avalanche and deserved a goal or two. The third was boring - I'd rather have been netting a true Saskatchewan 15lb lunker.

Excellent question. Being that 2 of my most favorite things to do on this planet are hockey and fishing (skiing being the third), you have touched upon a very meaningful subject. But after thinking it over, I would have to take the tickets because I have been following hockey as long as I've been fishing and have only been to 2 playoff games ever and never to the finals and I fish 80-100 days a year so the chance at the huge 'eye will come, but Lord Stanley is a rarity. It is even more close to home for me, EX-NJ, since I used to work about 3 miles from the Meadowlands and have been to a few more Devils games than Avs games (ticket prices are crazy these days). Way I look at it, I can't lose this year, but I am pulling slightly harder for the Avs and Bourque especially. Hopefully when I head to Mille Lacs on Sunday then to Sturgeon Bay WI next Thursday, that walleye will find it's way to my net for a photo and then a return trip back to make some more 'eyes for the future.

I live in Windsor Ontario where 80% of the people are maple leafs fans. I had to listen to it for years, so Ive learned to take it, and dish it. Its all in good fun. And yes I would like to see Borque win a cup, but does it have to be with Colorado.

Great posts, guys. This is what I hoped for. The game was exciting- much more so in person than on TV. Even though the Avs were flat (they really looked worse in person), it was a blast being there. The atmosphere was incredible, although I may never hear again. I can't explain the tension and wildness when they pulled Patty in the final minute. That was the most intensity I have ever experienced, even in some of the Broncos' last minute playoff comebacks like the one against Houston at Mile High. Even with the loss, it was definitely worth it. Now my buddy who accompanied me is a Devils fan and he was ecstatic (I had to keep him tethered so he didn't float away). He said his heart was beating so hard in that last minute, he couldn't draw a deep breath. He got only a bit of grief for his Devils shirt. The Avs fans were very sporting about it. Do you think the Wings fans would have been? Looks like the makings of a really great Cup, doesn't it?
