Just wondering what kind of speed I can expect from a 16 ft. starcraft with a Merc. 2-stroke? Anyone have similar rigs? Thanks

If that merc 2 stroke is a 250 hp - you can expect about 95 mph.
If that merc 2 stoke is a 60 hp - you can expect about 33 mph.
If that merc 2 stroke is a 90 hp - you can expect about 43 mph.
If that merc 2 stroke is a 125 hp - you can expect about 47 mph.
If that merc 2 stroke is a 30 hp - you can expect about 28 mph.

Take care

There are a ton of variables. You have to take into consideration boat weight, motor weight, weight of gear on board, boat style and make-up considering the type of body water that you fish (inland vs larger lakes), etc. I'd contact your nearest Starcraft dealer. They have charts that will tell you exactly what you'll get. For example, I have a 17 ft welded aluminum Monarch and I get 26-28 mph gps out of my 50 hp Merc. A guy I know has the exact same motor on a 16 ft older fiberglass boat (I don't recall the brand boat) and he gets 32-34 mph gps.

May be able to tickle 30 mph on GPS.
Have a good one!
