I need some direction for a planned mid June trip to Leech. First time there with the family and I am eager to put my 2 young boys on some fish. We will be staying on the SE side of the main lake. Any direction would be very much appreciated.

Hey Jig, things are going to be a little quiet about Leech right now as there is a tournament up there this weekend. If you re-post here after this next weekend you may have better luck. Anyways, I believe by mid-June the fish will probably either be headed to, or already at their homes for the summer. Use the wind as your direction where to go. Look to mid-lake structure such as Huddles, Mokey, Pelican. Like I said, more people will be willing to talk after this weekend. Good Luck!!

Hello! Where are you staying and what specific dates? Our family has enjoyed many good June weeks at Leech; are you after any specific species or just up to have fun fishing the area?

Hello again - may I suggest you go out with a guide on your first full day. It's worth the price for your vacation week alone; if you go back to Leech your learning and enjoyment will compound that much more. Ask your resort host for a referral or call the Leech Lake Guide Coalition at 218-547-3212.
Please email me and I will provide info from our experiences - some great, some lousy but always fun....

We will be up there June 20-24, at Forestview on the SE corner of the big lake. Any specific advice will be appreciated.
