Trailer Problem

I have a Champion Fishunter with a dual axle trailer. My boat sits too close to one of the axles and a couple spots on the keel must rub the axle when it's launched. I now have two damaged areas in my gel coat. The axle has gel coat residue. Any suggestions for a fix?

It sounds like your bunks aren't set up properly.

I agree. Bunks don't sound set-up right...or...were the bunks replaced with some wood of a different depth(not tall enough) such that the boat is 1/2"-1" closer to the axle? Maybe the boat sits just a bit too low now?

I would make up some steel shims to fit between the bunk boards and the risers just thick enough to keep the keel away from the axle.
