I have a 2000 opti 225 that has had the same plugs until now. The plugs came from the factory with champions but I would like to put in the NGK lazor platiums. Does anyone have a opion on plugs or experience and what the heck makes them worth $15.00 apiece? My other question is that the dealer said running mercury plus oil is bad for the motor and you have to run synthetic in Opti's or you could damage the motor, is this true? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you, ADO

I don't know about the spark plugs but as far as the oil goes my owners manual (2001 150hp Opti) says to use either premium plus or the Optimax oil. In my area the Opitmax oil isn't always avalible and my dealer said that before it was around all everyone ran was the premium plus and I shouldn't have a problem. He did say make sure it was the premium PLUS not the plain premium. My plugs right now have about 150 hours on them and the motor runs fine. I also don't normaly run the motor over 4000rpm which my dealer says will be easier on the plugs and the engine reguardless of the oil used.
