First THANK YOU!! for all the advice on this and many other things!!!! I'm posting for a buddy (no computer.) I posted wrong last night, (it's not my boat.) 24v troll plug wired with 2 leads from the plug, batt.'s are, batt.1 neg jump to poss.of batt.2 wiring is, orange 24v+ wire to poss. post of batt.1 / blk.wire to neg. post of batt.2 Question: is there a way to charge this set up with a regular 12v charger, with out removing the "jumper" wire between the batt's. THANK'S IN ADVANCE, AGAIN,!!!!!!!

If you have a battery charger with alligator clips, just connect to battery number one until charged, and then move to battery two until charged.

Just to 2nd the previous post - when you move the aligator clips - move both clips.

i.e. in both cases - have the + - clips hooked to the + - of battery 1 and for the 2nd battery have the + - battery charger clips to the + - of the battery.

The fact that the two batteries are connected together is irrelevant, as long as you move both clips.

Hey, good point REW. You do a good job of explaining things that we overlook as obvious that really are not. Would not want to disconnect the neg clip from battery A and attach to battery B with the +24 side of battery A still connected. Probably would not let any smoke out if done quickly, but would not take long before it would.

Agreed..., but do NOT have troll motor plugged in when doing this.
