I just picked up my X-15 with the gps and map create 6. My question is how do you transfer the created map into the unit. I've put it on the MMC card, and put it in the card in the unit. But cannot figure out how it gets transfered onto the units screen

It automatically loads into the unit. To verify, place your cursor inside the map you created. Push "Pages" then "Full Map", positon your cursor and Z-in. If you can zoom in closer than 7 miles or so and see detail your map is loaded. Hope this helps- Jim Carroll NPAA #588

If you still cannot figure it out, go to the lowrance website and send them an e-mail requesting input or call them at their 800 number listed at the site. They have been good responding to my e-mails regarding help for my 1600. Their answers have been complete and usually within 1 day.

It is www.lowrance.com.

Tom D, you're lucky. I cant get anyone to answer my emails let alone someone to help me on the phone. It's always busy there. I'd like to update to the 2.2 version but am not sure how it is done. I have checked their website but being the computer dork that I am, I have a hard time understanding the directions. Anyone have an easy way to explain how to download the 2.2 version?

Since I wrote this morning, more things have come up. I've only had it a day, and I'm going back to the dealer. But I've got three things
1. When I turn the unit on it comes up Positon Aquired, then it's Position Lost, then it flashes and beeps, GPS MODULE NOT RESPONDING.
2. All the preloaded background map data is missing on the MMC card. Nothing is on there.
3. I loaded up a couple of detail maps from the Map Create 6. I put the card into the tray and the whole unit locks up.
This is my first day with the unit. Is anyone had this experience? Maybe I should go back to the old Green Box.

What did you do with the wires for the DGPS-you have to isolate them and them tape them together. I had the similar problem last week, same unit, simular situation. As far as the chip-did you format it? Even though it tells you to, DON'T, if you did, it's junk.

Gator,
The unit was installed on my rig when I bought it. How should I go about isolating them? Could you be more specific? Thanks for your help.

I don't want to insult you but I had that happen once and I realized my wife was sitting on the GPS moduel on the gunnel. Is something blocking it?

The four wires for the DGPS, tape the ends individually so that none of the ends are touching each other. This information came from Lowrance when I called them.

Forgot to tell you, the other thing they told me is the "puck" might be "the wrong one". Try the wires first, if that doesn't fix it, go to their website and it will tell you how to check the puck to make sure you have the correct one or how to upgrade the unit to accept the one you have.
