Got a '99 used 1800 ProV late last Fall with a Shorelandr roller trailer. Finally got it out last Friday for a shakedown and everything ran great until loading. Had a HECK HECK of a time getting it on the roller trailer straight!!! x( In the process, I got a 6 foot rub mark on the hull from the rubber edging on the dock. Does anything take this off? Conditions were excellant for loading, just inexperienced. I wasn't in too deep for the trailer either (just a little above the taillights). After crying all night and drinking myself into a self-induced stupor, decided to convert to bunks...... Major major bummer...again, does anything take the mark off? Even though I've learned a great deal from this site, you can't replace experience. Thanks. :(

I don`t know what will take it off but Cabela`s sells some really nice side guides for your trailer. They really help when launching and landing in current.

Someone told me to try WD-40 might try it on a small spot. also a local body shop could help with a Idea, Good luck.
WD-40 - might work, depending on the rub mark.
The thing that will really work is "goof off" .
This is baisically a remover for getting off all kinds of marks from walls, painted things etc.
You can get it in any hardware store in the paint section.
Take care

Trick to loading on the shorelandr is two fold. First, make sure the step pads over the lights are just barely "out" of the water. Second, call shorelandr and ask for new center roller for the front. If you have the trailer I think you have, there is a front roller bar in the middle that swivels and has four rollers on it. The problem with these trailers not loading right with the newer tourny boats is that those front rollers are too soft and these new boats are too bow heavy. The keel will dig into the rubber on those soft rollers and not drop down into the vee to center itself. it ends up riding up on the roller. Shorelandr should send you new, harder neoprene rollers that seem to work much better. Just explain to them what is happening and that you heard there is a fix for it. I had mine in two days with no question. This has been a common thread here on WC for some time now. it's how I learned of how to correct it. Just thought I'd pass it along. Good luck and enjoy your new boat!
