I hope you don't mind me posting this here but, I need the perfect gag gift for my best friend who is turning 40. He has been fishing sense before he can remember (His dad was a fanatic also). Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Or you could find him one of the fishing rods that look like a beer can. Better yet how about a Donald Duck fishing rod or Mickey Mouse fishing rod. Hat with about anything printed on it will do also. Just a thought. Craig

Hello! This isn't a gag idea but... how about secretly gathering a handful of his best (and worst!) fishing photos and assembling them in a simple frame or album - with wisecrack commentary, of course! His family and friends probably have a load of photos and stories to match....just an idea but it could turn out to be a super keepsake... a personal "Wall of Fame"

I concur with the pocket fisherman idea. My buddy has one with an old beat up ReefRunner tied to it that he takes everywhere. Just picture pulling into a launch at Huron (OH) in the fall with all the "real" rods put away and pocket fishermen in the rod holders. It always gets him a head turn. He also has a variety of photos of trophy fish and the pocket fisherman. We have had loads of laughs with it.
