Big John I have just the answer for you. Check out the Lund travel cover. I have the travel cover and love it. The bottom of the cover has a bungy cord around it. These little hook shaped clips are installed allong the side of the boat. When you put the cover on you just stretch the cord at various points down on the hooks. Very secure cover and quick and easy to put on / off.

I have the full snap on cover. It is a hassle (all covers are)
but it does the job and looks great.

I have the snap-on travel cover for my Crestliner Fish Hawk. It works great. The material isn't the best and will need a replacemnt in the future. I'll never go back to straps that scratch everything up.

Good Luck

I have a full snap-on travel cover and really like it. The snaps are kind of a hassel but I like them better than the other strap on I had on the old boat. Also no scratches or bungies to loose or snap in your face.

I saw several of the bungee covers at the PWT.Pretty cool idea. doesn't the bungee rub the paint after several miles in the rain and grit?

Do you fellows have trouble with the snaps when trailering down the highway. I was told when a semi passes some of the snaps let loose?

I have had no rubbing or any problems like that at all. The bungy cover idea is relatively new and I don't think many people have seen it yet. I think it is absolutely the best wat to go with an alluminum boat. It is very tight when secured. You can even strap it on while docked.
I love it,

On the second year and no problems with snaps popping off. It is important that you keep the cover tight. Peroidically, I have had to adjust the poles so that the cover stays tight. I think if it is too loose you will get "flapping" that can pop a snap off.

Good Luck

I had a snap cover made 4 years ago from Canvas Plus and I love it. The cover fits nice and snug with 3 bows in the front, middle, and rear. I haven't had any problems with the cover when traveling or with the snaps. Go with the snaps.

What is a bungee cover?

I've had a cover for three years with the bungee cord running through the perimeter of the cover and "hooks" mounted on the splash rail of the boat. There are a lot of things I'd do different with the boat after having it for a few seasons, but that is one thing I got right. I don't use the cover all that often, but everytime I do I'm glad that I went that direction. The cover goes on and off in a flash.

Good luck.

I have the cord model and it does take the paint off on long trips. May be it would work for short ones but long hauls it's not the best. I just order a snap on one for my boat, going to give that a try.

I have to ask--is this the same cover you get from Lund as part of their promo packages or something entirely new? Are there pics anywhere of this cover?
Thanks!

Hey Jess,

I'm not from Delta Junction. I lived in Fairbanks for a few years, though, and spent much of my time at work in Delta Junction/Ft. Greely. It's been quite a few years since I've been back. Are you from that neck of the woods?

No from Ohio. I was thinking of moving there a while ago. I wanted to get the scoop on the fishing there. Looks like a pretty neat place.

I think the "bungy" cover is described pretty well above and I will add my whole-hearted support. There is also a pulley mechanism and strap at the back of mine which allow you to seal it up well. Easy to put on and take off, no messing with snaps or having them installed. My dealer got mine for me and I don't think it's a Lund brand, but it is terrific.
