Look here for info:

I sent my unit in because of no temp reading. Got it back and had to use the sonar on manual in shallow water. It worked perfectly except for temp before I sent it in. They told me to download the new software upgrade when it comes out and are sending me a new transducer.
This is an awesome unit, with outstanding detail and Lowrance has been very polite and helpful with the bug problems so far, but geez, we ought to be getting research money from them for all the aggravation.

Loaded the 2.10 version into my unit and did a quick look around while resetting all my personal settings, and found they added a FISHREVEAL option to the sonar feather menu along with grayscale and blackbottom, I would assume it is the same as Bottomline's REVELATION. I find out more this weekend.

I can't hold back my opinion any longer.
I own an Eagle Magna II and it works great for the price. I just ordered some stuff from the Lowrance website and it took less than a week. I am very impressed with Lowrance.
But, I am an electrical engineer as well as a computer programmer, and i think that Lowrance should have waited one more year on this product before releasing it. Preliminary software releases should be version 0.something, it looks like they are now up to about 0.8 thanks to all you field testers out there who bought the product that you are field testing for Lowrance.
However, you X-15MT owners are on the cutting edge of technology,
and will or do own a great unit.
I would guess someone in accounting, product management, or whatever at Lowrance was focused on generating some cash with quick sales of a hot new product, then counting on great service and engineering departments to fix the bugs for the customers.
Given Lowrance's excellent reputation, it looks like a bad call on their part.
From the sidelines, I would wait a year before buying a product which appears to not be ready for prime time.
I also hope Lowrance is paying ALL shipping charges for you guys to get your X-15s fixed. If you have trouble upgrading your own software, they should be doing that for you too, if they aren't already.

Would someone from lowrance please come on line here and fully explain this new "fishreveal" feature? thanks.
I just bought a lcx-15mt fish sonar from scheels in Eau Claire, and took it home and quick wired it up, and turned it on to check to see what program it had in it, and it already had the 2.1 upgrade installed. Wow!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Date bought 6-2.

Now how the heck could that happen?? I sent mine in two weeks ago, and got it back last week on Thursday which was May 24th. Now they have V2.1 in stores already, why didnt they install it my unit while they had it in there?

I got mine back with 1.9 on the 25th, talked to them again on the 29th, they sent me a new tranducer and also told me to watch for the software upgrade on the 31st, which was posted I believe on the 30th. Sam must have gotten a unit right off the assembly line.
I tried the fish reveal option for a couple of minutes but don't see any advantage and didn't feel like experimenting with it, because I was doing lousy in a tourney.
Bo,
I am in the same field as you and understand your comments.
However, the experience of the corporation that I work for as well as many others indicate that the timing is much more important for the product --- rather than being absolutely perfect.
We, as engineers, always like to put the next "fix" in and as they say would love to engineer in every possible "feature".
However, the market place demands that we get the product - if reasonably capable - and reliable - and work with them to get the most desirable features installed as required.
Although, there has been some minimal customer dissatisfaction with this new unit, in general - the customer response has been very favorable.
I see that Lowrance has done their very best, and has treated the customers to their very best ability to make the final fixes as painless as possible. The good side is that the fisherman that purchased this fine unit, will have had it for a least a year, before any of the competition has come out with a competitive product. This means that Lowrance has locked in that particular fisherman for the next 3-5 years with this product to the exclusion of their competition.
The business world is cut throat, and no holds are barred, and I am sure that Lowrance thanks the fine fishing folks who have made this purchase on a nearly perfect product, that needed a few final field "tweaks" for final customer acceptance.
Take care - and keep the electrons flowing.

I just downloaded this new revision and cannot get the unit to update. I was able to update the unit to 1.9 when it came out but am unable to get it to 2.10. Has anyone else had this problem? Is this a problem with the download or with my unit? I followed the directions as supplied by the Lowrance website and as I mentioned before I was able to upgrade to 1.9 without any problems.
Overall the unit has worked flawlesly for me. I have not had any of the problems metioned in any of the earlier posts and am very happy with the performance thus far.

I had the same problem. Initially I used the update inside the lowrance folder in the program menu. That didn't work.
There is another update program in the programs folder that needs to be used. It is separate from the lowrance folder and is named simply update and is probably all the way down to the bottom of your listings, with 2.1 inside the folder. Try that. Hope this makes sense.

I tried the FISHREVEAL today and all that I could determine is the bottom and fish marks have less contrast, they just renamed the "soft grayscale" that was on the V 1.9. You can do the same thing by turning the contrast down.

As many of you know... I have had more problems than most with my unit. I did download the last 2.1 update and it is working great. No Problems! It fixed everything....

To the person that said he was having a problem getting the info from the card to the unit, Put your MMC card in the other holder on your drawer. (??? Try-it!)

As a dealer I have performed many of these updates on several units. Had the same problem trying to update a customer unit from 1.9 to 2.10 yesterday. This particular unit wouldn't recognize the MMC card that I had loaded the upgrade onto. I keep an extra 8mb card with the latest upgrade on it to quickly update customer's units as they bring them into our dealership. This card was supplied to me by Lowrance and I have updated the update twice since they sent me the card.
This was kind of freaky since I had upgraded the unit on our display (also from 1.9 to 2.10) just minutes before, and the display unit could read the MMC card. But when I put the MMC card in the customer's unit didn't even recognize that there was a card in the reader!
The only way I finally got around the problem was to reformat the MMC card and then recreate the update on it. Apparently this card was never formatted by Lowrance prior to creating the update and that's why this unit wouldn't recognize the card. But be careful, if you've created any maps on your MMC card you will wipe them out by formatting the card. I formatted the card in the Lowrance MMC card reader instead of in the unit also.
Hopes this helps!!!
