Had a Crown Victoria that was low to the ground and trailering a 17 foot Lund on a Shore Lander Trailer was no problem.......Now
have a Ford Explorer Sport - the trailer is level now and when I slow down at speeds over 60mph the trailer starts to sway.....
Any ideas??????????

Possibly not enough tongue weight? the angle of the tongue on the crown vic may have made up for it, but it can't now that it's level. maybe try throwing your tacklebox or something heavy in the bow and see if it makes a difference.

just an idea.

I agree with Eyez, your for sure tail heavy. you might
be able to bring your boat forward on the trailer.
Believe it or not a couple inches will make a lot of
difference.

I think the guys got it on the head. You can purchase a draw bar with a drop from any auto parts store that should put it back at the same level and fix the problem. For sure you need to correct this ASAP. You don't want the rig doing that when the deer jumps out.

Try out this site. It's got everything you may ever want to know on the subject.

I had the same problem towing my 17' boat on a shorelander trailer. I solved the problem by moving the trailer axle back about 4 inches. I moved it back until I had 150 lbs on the tounge.
Before I moved it there was about 90 lbs on the tounge.
