I bought a honda 25 this spring with the understanding that I could add an alternator fairly easy. This is a manuel start, and there appears to be a plug on the side of the moter to plug in an alternator that I could wire to my battery. The problem is I can't find this plug anywhere. Has anybody out there added an alternator to their 25? The nearest Honda dealer told me their was no such thing, I think he doesn't know what he is talking about. I know I talked to a guy that bought the plug, wired it himself, and hasn't charged his battery since. Any help would be greatly appreciated. By the way I just wanted you all to feel my pain because I nailed a rock going full speed the very first day I had my Honda out fishing, busted skag, shattered prop, and shattered nerves! It's all fixable!

bbakes,

Your not crazy. I had an 8 HP Honda with the alternator jack/plug in the side of the motor. You can call Honda USA Customer Service and they will refer you to a vendor in the Carolinas that sells accessories. Or, do what I did. Cut the line and wire your own plug.

Sorry to hear about your other problems. Not a good way to start the season.
