Some time back I read about some bait suppliers who were developing night crawlers that had a flourescent green color - I think it was something in the food or bedding. I saw them for sale locally. Anybody have any expereince with them - better, worse, no different than the "natural" ones??

Biggest difference seems to be about a dollar at the cash register.

I have fished these crawlers side by side on numerous occasions and for different species as well. The only major differences between the two is usually the price and the time it takes to clean up your hands, boat, shirt, shoes and what ever else the green coloring comes in contact with! The only real difference I have noticed is when fishing live baits for rainbow trout, they seem to have a slight advantage. Tight lines and bent poles to all!

Only noticed a difference once. The natural worked better! The green is hard to clean off boats, carpeting, and hands. To avoid the cast they are selling kits to color your own. I have also seen other colors this year.
Good luck
My last outing to Winnebago, I caught 4 walleyes. Two were on the green and two were on regular crawlers.

The first time i used them we caught about thirty on the green then we ran out so we used the brown ones and only caught 5 more. Maybe we caught them all but I don't think so. You can never really tell with these wyoming walleye. I didn't have any trouble about getting green on my hands either. Maybe they're nto talking aobut the nitro kits but that was what I was using. Good luck to you. I say try them for yourself they might work for you.
