Crestliner fuel gage

I have a '98 1750 Sportfish and I just noticed that the gas gage needle is behaving very erratically. The needle jumps around instantly and is not like the normal "sloshing" that happens. The needle might be on full and instantly drop to under 1/2, then a few seconds later right back up to full.

Anyone seen this before?

Sounds like it could be wiring. Check connections, grounds and look for corrosion. Hope this helps.

Same thing happened on on my dadsboat and it was corroded connections at the gauge (under floor)
