I am thinking of getting a Pro V 1800 with a Eagle trailer, I was looking at the weight and it only 100 to 200 # lighter than a 1900 nad you see them on tandem axles, You can get a Eagle with a single axle that will handle it but would a tandem axle be better? By the time you add 4 Batteries kickerand all the other good stuff that adds up. Not to worried about moving it by hand.

Thanks and GOOD FISHUN! KLH

You dom=n't need a tandem trailer for a 1800 ProV.A single axle is fine.If you need a quote on a boat repomnd with your E-Mail address and i'll price one out for you.

I just ordered a Eagle trailer for a 1800 Pro V and looked into the same thing you did. The standard eagle trailer for that boat is rated for 2800 lbs. You can order it rated for 3000 or 3300 lbs and still stay with a single axle. After talking to eagle I decided to go with a single axle rated for 3000 lbs. I based it it on my boat ( 2001 model at 1450 lbs) plus main motor ( yamaha 175 HPDI at 485lbs) at approx. 2000lbs. To that I added Fuel( 40 gal.)250lbs. + kicker 100lbs + 4 batteries 150 lbs + 200lbs of misc ( elec. motor, gear tackle, anchor etc. etc.)That totaled 2700 lbs and I figured 2800 was cutting it to close. The 3000 rating seemed to cover what I needed and still give me a little cushion. Good Luck!

If you plan on doing alot of trailoring over many miles I'd want the
dual axle for safety and handling and longevity ,if you can swing the cost difference
If you'll only trailer once in a while then a single should be Okay
Another thing is your tow vehicle and------
Don't forget trailer brakes
Good luck and many years of fishing for you

I have a 2001 1800 Pro V SE with a 175 EFI Merc and an Eagle Pro Fisherman custom made for this hull. It is a single axle version and handles this rig with absolutely no problem. It is very well made, tows well and loads great. What else can you ask of a boat trailer? By the way, it looks sharp!!

A properly loaded tandem trailer tows easier than a single axle, the tongue weight will be less. Brakes can be installed on a single axle trailer as well if it is an issue.
